When I run DynDNS Updater as service in Windows Vista, the tray icon is not displayed.

DynDNS Updater is a program that can be used to update your IP address into dynamic DNS service providers. It supports multiple service providers through configuration file. It is also an official update client for DynDNS.

This beta version fixed bug on creating ini file algorithm. In previous version, when the folder where the ini file should be placed is not writable by user, DynDNS Updater will crash. In this version, the ini file will be created in the following order:

• In folder specified by user from command line. If fails,
• In program folder. If fails,
• In user application data.

Kana Reminder is a small and easy to use reminder program. It can be used to display a simple text reminder, or a complex one which include launching a program, playing song etc. It comes with calendar window, which display current month with the date that has reminder in bold.

This release fixed the following bugs:

• Bug that the reminder type for monthly reminder was not displayed when mouse is hovered on reminder list.
• Bug that the Show Reminder command from calendar window did not work on Vista (the reminder list was not marked).
• Bug on calender window which is the window size was not correctly calculated.
• Some cosmetic bugs when running on Vista.

DynDNS Updater is a widely used dynamic DNS service update client. It is optimized to work with DynDNS but supports many other dynamic DNS services.

This version adds the following new features:

Ask for password to access DynDNS Updater

DynDNS Update can be set to ask for password to display the window. This will make the program more secure from unwanted access.

Note: The password is saved inside the DynDNS.ini file, so it is necessasy to keep that file is safe place also.

Specify a fully qualified domain name

You can now specify a fully qualified domain name so that the mail function will work on mail servers that require it.

This version also fix several bugs:

• Added confirmation when downloading hostnames and the box is already filled by other hostname.
• Fixed bug. When the checking for new version and new version dialog is displayed, the checking IP process is suspended until the dialog is closed.
• Fixed bug when force update is required and a non fatal error is resulted. Previously, DynDNS Updater will not be able to do the update, but keep trying. This results in continuous beeping.
• Fixed bug when doing offline update. In previous version, the offline IP address was not recorded so the information displayed on updated IP is not valid.
• Fixed various cosmetic bugs when running on Vista

Although Windows Vista is not officially supported in this version, several tests indicated it works with only minor problems.

Kana Clip monitors your clipboard for a new copied text and saves it into a popup menu so you can retrieve the text later on easily to be placed into clipboard and ready to be pasted into whatever you want.

Kana Clip is mainly useful for programmers, editors, replying newsgroups, or any other activities that involve working with text.

This version changes the format of how the clips are saved. This version saves the clips into XML format. The result is the process of saving the clips becomes faster than in previous version. The conversion from the old into new format is done automatically.

Other improvement is added notification (sound played) when a new clipboard entry is detected.
